Our Ethos

Diversity

Our key objective is to ensure we have a truly inclusive workplace where every individual can shine regardless of gender, culture, identity, age, work style, or approach. We support and improve equality outcomes in the workplace and take a leadership position on diversity practices.

Balance

We are a family-run business that understands the demand for a healthy work-life balance. All employees are equally represented, valued, and rewarded by implementing workplace flexibility that accommodates differences in the background, perspectives, and family responsibilities. These include flexible working arrangements to accommodate family needs and access to our employee assistance program.

Training

We recognise that staff training is fundamental and of primary importance to the success of our business. We actively promote career development opportunities and offer staff scope to provide input into the development of our business as we continue to grow.

We continue to invest in supporting our staff to develop their skills. Many of our management team members initially started with us through the Graduate Program.

We are proud to maintain strong staff retention within our business and pursue a policy of promotion from within.

Graduate Program

The Building Engineering Graduate Program provides the skills needed to develop a career in construction.

As one of the most well-respected graduate programs in the industry, the program targets young professionals who have recently completed a bachelor’s degree in construction, engineering, or architecture.

The Building Engineering Graduate Program is an 18-month full-time program that provides graduates exposure to multiple departments within the business including estimating, and construction.

Building Engineering’s friendly, diverse culture enables people and the company to thrive. A key feature of the Graduate Program is the buddy system. Each graduate is assigned a senior mentor with whom they check in, sit in on meetings and undertake site visits to their projects.

Building Engineering guides and teaches young construction industry professionals the values and skillsets required to set them up for a successful career.

Building Engineering offers graduates exposure and hands-on experience in many facets of the construction industry – from pricing to project delivery – with a friendly, energetic team of highly skilled construction professionals.

We will nurture and mentor you, building construction knowledge while promoting accountability, fairness, and honourable dealing.

“Immediate acceptance. That sums up my experience since joining the Bldg.Eng team as a Cadet while still completing my degree. The open-door policy from the directors and senior staff has allowed me to advance my knowledge quickly. The variety of exposure, from estimating to visiting the site and the construction phase and seeing projects through to completion has been immense. The social scene and work-life balance have also been amazing, lots of fun events.”
