Building Engineering steps into the ring with champion boxer Ali Lai-Carlyle

Building Engineering proudly hosted an action-packed boxing session with elite female athlete Ali Lai-Carlyle, as part of our new sponsorship initiative supporting her journey to the 2025 Boxing World Championships in England.

Ali, the current New Zealand National Champion, joined the Building Engineering team at HQ for an energising after-hours session that combined high-intensity training, fun, and team connection. With 49+ amateur bouts under her belt and a spot on the New Zealand Elite Squad, Ali brought her signature drive and discipline to the ring — and gave staff a firsthand taste of what it takes to train like a world-class athlete.

Held in the basement of our Melbourne office, the training session was open to all staff. From pad work to footwork, the energy was high and the motivation contagious. Ali’s passion and positive attitude had everyone moving and smiling.

We are proud to champion women in sport and support rising talent as they strive for international success. It was also a brilliant opportunity to bring our people together in a new and exciting way.

Watch the highlights from the session in our video and keep an eye out as we follow Ali’s journey to the World Championships this September!
