Celebrating a Good Design Award Win for the Coonawarra Willam Aquatic Centre
We’re proud to celebrate Peddle Thorp Architects being recognised with a Good Design Award for the Ivanhoe Grammar School – Plenty Campus Coonawarra Willam Aquatic Centre at the 2025 Australian Good Design Awards.
As the builders behind this outstanding project, we’re thrilled to see the centre acknowledged on a national stage for its innovation, sustainability, and design excellence.
Named Coonawarra Willam, meaning Home of the Swan in Woi-wurrung and gifted by Wurundjeri Elder Aunty Zeta Thomson, the facility brings together aquatic spaces, learning environments, and wellbeing areas in a way that connects deeply with Country. Thoughtfully designed and purposefully delivered, it provides students and the broader community with a space that balances learning, culture, and connection.
This award also reflects our ongoing and valued partnership with Ivanhoe Grammar School, built over many years of collaboration and shared ambition. We’re honoured to continue supporting the school as it invests in high-quality learning environments that enrich student experience and community connection.
Congratulations to the Peddle Thorp team, including Director Robert Page and Principal Socrati Seretis, who attended the awards celebration recognising Australia’s most forward-thinking and impactful design achievements.
A big thank you to Good Design Australia for honouring the project and for highlighting the importance of design that enriches people, place, and community.
