Lort Smith Animal Hospital in North Melbourne reaches milestone with completion of Stage 1
The Lort Smith Animal Hospital project has marked a significant achievement with the completion of the Separable Portion 2 works, the Stage 1 redevelopment of the North Melbourne Animal Hospital.
The journey began in August 2020 when Building Engineering commenced works with the Lort Smith Animal Hospital. The first of three separable portions saw the construction of a new cutting-edge facility in Campbellfield. This separable portion was delivered in 2022.
Building Engineering is delighted to announce the successful completion of the Stage 1 works at the North Melbourne site and is pleased to report that the works for Stage 2 are well underway.
The redevelopment of the existing North Melbourne site delivers a state-of-the-art animal hospital equipped with cutting-edge medical equipment and extended facilities to provide care for the thousands of pets that visit Lort Smith every year.
Lort Smith Animal Hospital is the largest and busiest not-for-profit animal hospital in Melbourne. It’s more than just a hospital – it’s an iconic Melbourne institution that’s dedicated to providing exceptional veterinary services for all pet owners. With expert animal healthcare and advanced facilities, the hospital is setting new standards for pet well-being.
What sets this project apart is the careful management of the construction process within the operational environment of the hospital. The vet clinic and hospital continue to provide their crucial services seamlessly while construction progresses. This unique approach highlights the commitment of Building Engineering to ensuring minimal disruptions to the hospital’s operations.
Building Engineering is thrilled to continue its partnership with the Lort Smith Animal Hospital and is excited about the positive changes that will benefit the community, staff, animals, and their caregivers. Stay tuned for more updates as we move toward the grand completion at the end of this year.
