Topping out ceremony celebrates major milestone at St Aloysius College Senior Years Campus

Building Engineering has proudly marked a significant milestone with the topping out ceremony at the St Aloysius College Senior Years Campus, signalling the completion of the building structure and the next phase of this landmark education project.

David Gurr, Construction Manager at Building Engineering, reflected on the achievement and the collaborative effort behind it.

“It has been a fantastic journey working alongside St Aloysius College, SEMZ, and Hayball. We truly value the collaboration that has helped us reach this important construction milestone.”

He noted that the Senior Years Campus has been purposefully designed to support students’ evolving needs, with flexible, future-focused environments that foster collaboration, independent learning, and personal growth.

“Topping out represents months of careful planning, coordination, and strong teamwork across all stakeholders,” Gurr said. “We are progressing well and are currently running on programme for an opening in Term 3. Our focus now turns to the internal works as we continue driving toward completion.”

Mary Farah, Principal at St Aloysius College, acknowledges the strong partnership that has shaped the project.

“This wouldn’t be possible without the people who were instrumental in delivering this project,” she shared. “To Hayball, our architects, thank you for designing a campus that captures our spirit so beautifully. To Building Engineering, thank you for your expertise and ensuring this campus is built with exemplary safety. And to SEMZ, our project managers, thank you for guiding us from vision to reality. It has been an absolute pleasure working with all of you.”

As works now move into the interiors, anticipation continues to build for a state-of-the-art campus that will support and inspire generations of St Aloysius College students for years to come.
