Community Contribution

At Building Engineering, we believe in building more than just structures, we’re building stronger communities.

Our commitment to community contribution is embedded in everything we do. We proudly support initiatives that make a real difference in the places where our people live, work, and connect. Through charitable partnerships, local engagement, and social impact programs, we aim to create lasting, positive change that extends well beyond our project sites.

Contributions

Cancer Council

Building Engineering is proud to support Shitbox Rally, Australia’s largest community-led fundraiser for the Cancer Council. Now in its 15th year, the rally sees teams raise a minimum of $5,000 each, contributing to multimillion-dollar fundraising targets and making a significant impact on cancer research and support services. Participants travel across some of Australia’s most remote regions in their “shitboxes”, helping drive the Cancer Council’s largest national fundraising initiative.

DV Collective

Building Engineering’s partnership with DV Collective has enabled our team to participate in meaningful volunteering initiatives, including volunteering for RIMERN – the Rotary Inner Melbourne Emergency Relief Network, which rehomes quality household goods to people experiencing crisis or hardship through a network of more than 60 welfare agencies. Our staff have assisted with sorting, cleaning, and preparing donated items, contributing to RIMERN’s mission of helping individuals and families create safe, comfortable homes with dignity and choice. Through DV Collective, we’ve also taken part in the Make a House a Home program, supporting the full furnishing of a new home for a mother and her children rebuilding their lives after escaping violence.

Variety The Children’s Charity

Building Engineering has proudly supported the Variety Bash, Australia’s longest-running and most iconic charity motoring event. The Bash brings together teams who travel through remote and regional communities, raising vital funds to help children who are sick, disadvantaged, or living with disability. Through this unique blend of adventure and generosity, the event continues to make a meaningful impact across Australia.

Property Industry Foundation

Building Engineering maintains a strong connection with the Property Industry Foundation, an organisation dedicated to creating safe and secure accommodation for homeless youth through industry-led initiatives like the Haven Project. Our involvement spans fundraising events, cycling initiatives, and site-based community activities, including participation in the Tour de PIF and hosting Hard Hat Day events, which together showcase our ongoing commitment to helping provide stable housing and brighter futures for young Australians.

Lort Smith Animal Hospital

Building Engineering is proud to support Lort Smith Animal Hospital, an organisation dedicated to providing exceptional veterinary care and essential services for animals and the broader community. Through a $20,000 donation and a long-standing partnership, we are delighted to contribute to the wellbeing of the many animals that rely on Lort Smith each year.

Scope

Building Engineering proudly champions the work of Scope, an organisation supporting more than 5,700 people across Victoria and NSW living with complex disabilities, including those who rely on alternative communication methods. Our involvement includes sponsoring the 2024 CommuniCamp, a program that equips individuals and families with vital communication skills. The camp’s national recognition, placing in the top three at the 2023 National Disability Awards, reflects its meaningful contribution to the disability community.

Reclink Australia

Building Engineering’s support for Reclink Australia reflects our focus on strengthening community wellbeing. Reclink provides sport and recreation opportunities for people facing social and economic disadvantage, creating pathways to improved physical and mental health. Our recent donation of gym equipment from a project, including bikes, treadmills, an elliptical, and strength machines, has helped boost access to fitness resources for the Werribee community.

Good Shepherd

Building Engineering contributed $20,000 to Good Shepherd as we continue our stance at the frontline of the housing and homelessness crisis. Through this donation, we are directly able to assist in the redesign of homes to incorporate environmentally sustainable design, that will in-turn, reduce the cost of living by minimising utility bills.
Through this donation, we join Good Shepherd in the support of changing lives across Australia, including 120,000 women and families supported by Good Shepherd programs and services, and 33,139 hours of support given to women and children experiencing family and domestic violence.
