Building Engineering has been appointed under a Design & Construct contract to deliver a significant redevelopment of the Box Hill City Oval Pavilions and Grounds. The project is designed to create contemporary, inclusive facilities that encourage participation across all genders and abilities.

The scope includes the demolition of the existing Western Pavilion, the design and construction of a new two-storey Western Pavilion, and the refurbishment of the lower level of the Southern Pavilion.

Once complete, the development will provide a modern, multi-purpose venue equipped to support both elite sporting competition and wider community use.

The new Western Pavilion will include:

– Community spaces with a kitchen and kiosk
– Flexible change rooms to support gender-inclusive participation
– First aid facilities, gym and warm-up areas
– Umpire rooms and administration offices
– Multi-purpose spaces designed for use as coaches’ boxes, broadcast and timekeeper facilities on game days, and as meeting rooms and tuition studios for the community on non-event days

The project also includes refurbishment works to the Southern Pavilion. These works will deliver:

– Updated amenities for match day use
– Flexible change rooms to support gender-inclusive participation
– Improved first aid and warm-up areas

Construction is set for completion in mid-2027.
