Broadmeadows Town Hall Redevelopment

Hume City Council

Kerstin Thompson Architects

Major construction and refurbishment works have enabled the historic Broadmeadows Town Hall to once again be enjoyed by the community, and support the creation of local jobs.

The revitalisation of this suburban civic gem retains the strengths and clarity of the distinctive and culturally significant 1960s building - particularly its scale, symmetry, civic grandeur and ceremonial organisation – while adapting the building to provide practical and modern spaces the entire community can utilise.

Tailored to meet the needs of local residents, community groups, Council and businesses in Broadmeadows, features include a large scale conference, events and seminar hall, art gallery and exhibition space, meeting rooms, business incubator space and modern flexible office facilities. The historic upper hall can again host civic functions and the business spaces offer a place for more than 200 people to work.

Funding for this project included $7 million contributed by The Victorian State Government and $16.2 million from Hume City Council.
