Building Engineering was appointed to deliver the Booboop Narrkwarren Nagarra-Jarra-Noun (Family Healing) Centre (formerly known as the Statewide Child and Family Centre) in December 2021. Construction work commenced in January 2022 and was completed in early 2023.
The project consisted of the delivery of a new 12-bed mental health care and wellbeing facility to children aged 11 and under.
Operated by Austin Health, the Booboop Narrkwarren Nagarra-Jarra-Noun (Family Healing) Centre is the first of its kind in Victoria. The facility offers therapy and ‘live-in’ services for acute mental health patients (0-11yrs) and their families.
The new facility features private rooms and shared living spaces including a communal kitchen, dining, laundry, family activity areas, outdoor garden areas, along with clinical consulting areas.
