Building Engineering delivers Consider Construction Program at Ivanhoe Grammar School
Building Engineering recently delivered our Consider Construction program to students at Ivanhoe Grammar School’s Ridgeway Campus, further strengthening a long-standing partnership built on innovation, education, and community connection.
The presentation was delivered by a combined team from across our business, including Rachel Richter (Head of Marketing), alongside members of the project team currently working on the school’s new Fraser Centre: Jake Lewis (Project Manager), Melody Li (Contract Administrator), and Eren Gover (Graduate). Together, they provided students with a dynamic and engaging introduction to the many pathways available within the construction industry.
A special highlight of the day was hearing from Eren Gover, one of Building Engineering’s graduates and a proud former Ivanhoe Grammar student. Eren shared his career journey, from studying engineering at RMIT University to joining Building Engineering while still completing his degree. His story resonated strongly with the students, offering an honest and relatable example of the rewarding paths within the construction industry.
As part of our partnership with Ivanhoe Grammar, the Consider Construction program gives students a closer look at how projects like the Fraser Centre come to life. From early design through to delivery, it highlights the many career pathways that exist within the construction industry. Student feedback was overwhelmingly positive.
Students also enjoyed an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of the new Fraser Centre, which our team is currently constructing at the Ridgeway Campus. The six-level facility will create a contemporary and sustainable hub for senior learning. Once complete, it will feature:
– Science laboratories equipped for advanced experimentation
– Modern teaching spaces designed for flexible learning
– University-style breakout and study spaces, encouraging collaboration and independent study
– An administration area to support staff and student services
– A lecture theatre for presentations and events
– A new rooftop cafeteria/canteen for students
Building Engineering’s partnership with Ivanhoe Grammar spans several major projects, including the Sports and Aquatic Centre at the Ridgeway Campus and the Coonawarra Willam Aquatic Centre at the Plenty Campus. The Consider Construction program continues to build on this relationship by offering students meaningful, real-world exposure to modern construction environments and the opportunities they present.
