Building Engineering hits the ground running at the Melbourne Teams Corporate Triathlon

The sun was shining, and the energy was high as the Building Engineering team took on the Melbourne Teams Corporate Triathlon on Sunday, delivering a fantastic day of fitness, teamwork, and friendly competition.

With six teams competing, three in the full triathlon and three in the split triathlon, Building Engineering had a strong presence on the course and an even stronger showing in results.

Strong performance in the Full Triathlon

A standout result came from our full triathlon team of Chris Morrison, Hector Renon and David Gurr, who completed the race in an impressive 2:31:20.

Their performance placed them 67th out of 334 competitors overall and 32nd out of 128 teams in the construction industry category, a fantastic achievement in a very competitive field.

Relay team delivers impressive result

Our split triathlon relay team of Nick Hodgson, Rachel Richter and Chris Doufas also delivered a brilliant performance, finishing the course in 00:49:56.

The team placed 90th out of 322 overall, and 28th out of 98 teams in the construction industry category.

Outstanding individual performances

A special shout-out goes to Nick Hodgson, who absolutely smashed the swim leg with an incredible time of 4 minutes and 35 seconds, ranking 5th overall out of all competitors on the day.

Another highlight was Sofia Di Vincenzo, who completed her first-ever triathlon and remarkably did so with no prior training. An outstanding achievement and an inspiring effort.

Events like the Corporate Triathlon are a great reminder of the strong culture within the Building Engineering team. The day was filled with camaraderie, determination, and plenty of support from colleagues cheering from the sidelines.

With sunshine, a fantastic turnout, and strong performances across the board, it was another memorable day for the team, and one we are already looking forward to participating in next year.
