Topping out celebration at Gippsland Sports and Entertainment Park

Building Engineering is proud to celebrate the topping-out of the Gippsland Sports and Entertainment Park project, marking a significant milestone in the delivery of this landmark community and sporting facility for the Latrobe Valley region.

The achievement represents months of planning, coordination, and construction effort and is a testament to the strong collaboration among the Building Engineering team alongside Development Victoria, Sport and Recreation Victoria, Latrobe City Council, Brand Architects, the consultant team, subcontractors, and project partners involved in bringing the vision to life.

The project has continued to make strong progress across all areas of the site. The pavilion structure is now complete, the roof has been installed, and the natural turf playing surface has been laid. This week, the team is finalising the striking rammed-earth feature walls, which will become a defining architectural element of the new facility. Installation of the synthetic turf is also commencing, while internal fit-out works are progressing steadily throughout the building.

Once complete, the redevelopment will transform Gippsland Sports and Entertainment Park into a contemporary, world-class venue capable of hosting elite sporting events, community sport, and major entertainment events. The upgraded facility will provide modern amenities and enhanced infrastructure, creating a destination that athletes, spectators, and the broader community can enjoy for generations to come.

Building Engineering Project Manager William Boothey said it was exciting to see the project continue to take shape as it nears completion.

“Reaching this milestone is a reflection of the hard work and dedication of everyone involved in the project. We’re proud of the progress achieved to date and look forward to delivering a facility that will create lasting benefits for the Latrobe Valley community.”

With construction continuing at pace, the project team looks forward to sharing further updates as Gippsland Sports and Entertainment Park moves towards completion.
