What are you working safely for? National Safe Work Month 2026
At Building Engineering, safety is about more than what happens on-site. It’s about protecting the people, experiences and futures that matter most to us.
Throughout October, Building Engineering proudly supported National Safe Work Month 2026, embracing this year’s theme, Safe Work is for Life, with our own campaign, ‘What Are You Working Safely For?’
The campaign encouraged our people to reflect on their personal reasons for working safely, whether that’s family, friends, health, travel, hobbies or achieving personal goals.
To bring the campaign to life, we invited team members from across the business to share what working safely means to them.
For Graduate Jayda Balas, it’s about getting home to her much-loved four-legged companion, while Labourer John Papadopetros looks forward to his next big adventure: trekking to Everest Base Camp.
Site Manager Frank Lombardo shared the importance of spending time with his grandchildren, while OHS Labourer Aris summed up the importance of looking out for one another: “I work safely for my family and yours.”
Throughout the month, our campaign also encouraged staff participation through our internal competition, while reinforcing the importance of both physical safety and mental wellbeing.
As we approach the busy end-of-year period, the campaign reminds us that every safe decision helps protect what matters most.
Because safe work isn’t just about today. It’s about making sure we’re there for all the moments that matter tomorrow.
Watch our team share their stories and tell us: What are you working safely for?
