Championing emerging talent at the 2026 RMIT University Awards Night
Building Engineering is proud to continue its longstanding partnership with RMIT University by sponsoring the 2026 School of Property, Construction and Project Management Industry, Research and Awards Night, which celebrates emerging talent and the next generation of construction industry professionals.
As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting education, innovation and industry development, Building Engineering once again sponsored the Building Engineering Poster Award, recognising the best student research poster focused on safety in construction projects.
Our Construction Manager, David Gurr, represented Building Engineering on stage to present this year’s award to Jamie Chen, whose research impressed our judging panel with its exploration of occupational health and safety legislation and the challenges associated with harmonising safety standards across Australia.
Congratulations to Jamie on this well-deserved recognition and for contributing valuable research to an area that remains a fundamental priority across our industry.
Our relationship with RMIT University extends beyond the annual awards, with Building Engineering actively participating in university careers fairs and industry engagement opportunities. These initiatives let us connect with aspiring construction professionals, share industry insights, and help bridge the gap between education and practical experience.
Investing in the next generation is investing in our industry’s future. We are proud to continue supporting RMIT University in recognising student achievement, encouraging fresh perspectives and fostering the talent that will help shape the future of construction.
Congratulations to Jamie and all the students recognised throughout the evening, and thank you to RMIT University for another successful event.
