The project at 318 Little Collins Street involves the transformation of the existing Hub Arcade, originally built in the late 1960s, into a revitalised mixed-use hospitality and retail destination in Melbourne’s CBD. The scope of works is focused on optimising the existing structure through targeted upgrades, contemporary design interventions, and the creation of new commercial and hospitality opportunities across multiple levels.
Key works include the internal demolition and strip-out of non-structural elements, followed by structural modifications and additions. This will deliver a new rooftop hospitality level as well as a goods lift to service the building. The Little Collins Street frontage will be enhanced with the installation of a lightweight modular brick slip façade, providing a contemporary yet contextually sensitive response to its heritage surrounds.
Significant upgrades to base building services will be undertaken, covering fire protection, mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems to support the new mix of uses. The redevelopment will provide cold-shell retail tenancies at Ground Floor and Level 1, together with fully fitted hospitality venues across Levels 2 and 3. Further improvements will extend to the western laneway, with re-paving and façade treatments enhancing connectivity and contributing to the activation of this important urban space.
Through these works, the project will deliver a modern adaptive re-use outcome that respects the existing fabric while creating a vibrant new destination for hospitality, retail, and leisure in one of Melbourne’s most boutique and character-filled streets.
