Building Engineering successfully delivered the $40 million Biyala Primary School project one month ahead of schedule, completing the works in just 11 months, an outstanding achievement for a complex education facility.
Located in Armstrong Creek, Geelong, the new campus was delivered to accommodate up to 650 students, helping meet growing enrolment demand in the area, easing pressure on surrounding schools and providing access to high-quality education close to home. Commissioned by the Victorian School Building Authority (VSBA), the project was delivered under a Design and Construct contract and includes three contemporary learning buildings, a community hub, administration building, kindergarten, and extensive outdoor facilities. These include two hardcourts, a full-sized playing field and generous car parking, ensuring the campus supports both students and the wider community.
The project involved extensive landscaping, major civil works and significant structural elements across the site. Designed by Architectus and managed by Johnstaff as superintendent, the school was purposefully designed to support collaborative learning, while providing flexibility for future growth. Biyala Primary School will officially open on Day 1 of Term 1, 2026, and now stands as a vibrant new education hub for the Armstrong Creek community.
