Building Engineering has been engaged by the Greater Metropolitan Cemeteries Trust (GMCT) to construct Stage 3 of the Werribee Mausoleum, located within the Werribee Cemetery precinct.

Stage 3 will extend the existing Stage 1 and 2 mausoleum buildings and will comprise:

– A semi-enclosed mausoleum structure accommodating 420 positions across five levels, including single, double and tandem crypts
– A new forecourt and piazza featuring landscaping, paving, a statue and 168 columbarium niche walls
– A new toilet amenity building, positioned near the northern boundary of the cemetery
– A new entry to the mausoleum precinct from Railway Avenue

The Werribee Mausoleum is a well-recognised local landmark, known for its distinctive tiered black roof and contemporary architectural detailing. Existing crypts are screened with finely crafted bronze panels that provide families with privacy and quiet reflection spaces.

The Stage 3 expansion will increase capacity to support ongoing demand for casket and columbarium products in Melbourne’s southwestern region.

Building Engineering’s appointment follows our recent delivery of the multi-award-winning Northern Memorial Park Depot for GMCT, further strengthening our ongoing partnership.
