Werribee Mausoleum – Stage 3 Expansion

The project involved the expansion of the existing Stage 1 and 2 mausoleum buildings, delivering:

– A semi-enclosed mausoleum structure accommodating 420 positions across five levels, including single, double and tandem crypts
– A new forecourt and piazza featuring landscaping, paving, a statue and 168 columbarium niches
– A new toilet amenity building positioned near the northern boundary of the cemetery
– A new entry to the mausoleum precinct from Railway Avenue

The Werribee Mausoleum is a well-recognised local landmark, distinguished by its tiered black roof and contemporary architectural detailing. Finely crafted bronze panels screen the existing crypts, providing families with privacy and peaceful spaces for reflection.

The completed Stage 3 expansion enhances the precinct’s facilities and increases capacity to meet the growing demand for casket and columbarium products across Melbourne’s southwestern region.

The successful delivery of this project follows Building Engineering’s multi-award-winning Northern Memorial Park Depot, further strengthening our valued and ongoing partnership with GMCT.
