Safe Work Month Week 3 – Working together to support all workers

In the third week of Safe Work Month last week, the focus was on fostering a culture of workplace safety that revolves around working together to support all workers. Our team came together to brainstorm, discuss, and implement innovative ideas aimed at improving safety on their respective sites. The standout submission came from Contract Administrator Steven Thadathil, whose innovative approach to enhancing on-site safety earned him recognition and praise.

Throughout Safe Work Month, the spotlight has been on those individuals who have demonstrated their dedication to creating safer work environments. While numerous commendable ideas were submitted last week, it was our Contract Administrator Steven Thadathil who took home the individual prize for his exceptional contributions to workplace safety.

Steven’s winning concept has improved the separation between on-site pedestrians and mobile plant machinery, as well as other potential hazards.

Rather than merely proposing this idea, Steven took a proactive stance by collaborating with the site manager to ensure that the safety improvements became a reality. His dedication to making a difference went beyond ideation, as he actively engaged in updating site drawings to reflect the changes, ensuring that the entire site team was well informed about the physical changes required on-site for safety.

In an industry where safety is paramount, Steven’s innovative approach involved not only producing an innovative solution but also implementing it effectively. His achievements are a shining example of how collaboration can result in tangible safety improvements.

Safe Work Month aims to raise awareness about workplace safety and encourages employees at all levels to take a more active role in making their workplaces safer.

Well done, Steven, and enjoy your well deserved prize!
