Construction commences on new Jacksons Creek Community Centre
Building Engineering has officially commenced construction of the new Jacksons Creek Community Centre in Sunbury South, marking the milestone with a sod-turning ceremony alongside Hume City Council and members of the wider project team.
The milestone represents an exciting step forward for the growing Sunbury South community, with the Jacksons Creek Community Centre set to become one of the first community facilities delivered within the new development area.
Designed to provide important services and spaces for local families and residents, the new centre will bring together a range of early years, family and community services under one roof.
The facility will include kindergarten and early years spaces, maternal and child health services, and flexible community spaces that will support a variety of programs, activities and community needs.
Sustainability has also been embedded throughout the design, supporting the delivery of a contemporary, environmentally responsible facility that meets the needs of the community now and into the future.
The sod-turning provided an opportunity for Building Engineering, Hume City Council, k20 Architecture, and the wider project team to celebrate the commencement of construction and the collaborative effort behind bringing the project to this important stage.
With works now underway, Building Engineering looks forward to continuing its partnership with Hume City Council and the project team to bring this important new community hub to life.
The Jacksons Creek Community Centre is scheduled for completion in early 2028.
