2025 – What a year!

As we reflect on 2025, it’s been a year defined by momentum, growth and proud milestones across our business. This year, Building Engineering celebrated 22 years in business, marking over two decades of delivering high-quality outcomes across Victoria.

We broke ground on several exciting new projects, including Box Hill City Oval Development, Chisholm Institute – Dandenong Tech School, and the Gippsland Sports and Entertainment Park, while successfully delivering key commercial projects such as 55 Collins Street, 380 St Kilda Road, and Twenty8 Freshwater Place.

Our education portfolio was a standout in 2025. We delivered Biyala Primary School, a $40 million project completed in just 11 months, an exceptional achievement. St Columba’s College was delivered three months ahead of schedule, while Northcote High School was recognised at the 2025 Victorian School Design Awards, winning Best School Project above $15 million. We also completed Wantirna College and the Ivanhoe Grammar School – Plenty Campus Coonawarra William Aquatic Centre, which proudly received the 2025 Australian Good Design Award Winner.

In the community sector, the Northern Memorial Park Depot continued its remarkable awards journey, now holding 11 major accolades, including the 2025 Australian Institute of Architects – Victorian Architecture Medal, 2025 Australian Sustainability Awards – Commercial Architecture (Large), and the 2025 Australian Timber Design Awards – Commercial Building.

We also strengthened our leadership team, with David Waters appointed General Manager, and Will Devlin promoted to Construction Manager, a proud example of promotion from within. This year saw the launch of the new face of Streetscape, delivering high-quality small to medium-scale construction projects, backed by the capability and shared resources of Building Engineering.

Our current projects under construction include 318 Little Collins Street, Richmond Primary School, Broadmeadows Magistrates’ Court, St Aloysius College Senior Years Campus, and the Werribee Mausoleum.

Beyond project delivery, we continued our Consider Construction program, partnering with schools to educate students about careers in construction and providing access to live construction site tours. We also proudly celebrated and supported our subcontractors, whose expertise and collaboration remain critical to our success.

Giving back remained central to who we are, with continued support for organisations including Cancer Council, Property Industry Foundation, and DV Collective. We were also recognised at the Master Builders Victoria 2025 Awards, receiving Winner: Excellence in Civil Construction and Special Commendation: Best Sustainable Project.

In 2025, we launched our PPE Re-Thread program, an exciting step forward in sustainability. Delivered in collaboration with Assembled Threads, this pioneering initiative reduces textile waste while supporting disadvantaged communities through ethical employment and training in garment manufacturing.

To our clients, consultants, subcontractors and team, thank you for being part of another exceptional year. We’re excited to keep building together in 2026.
