This project involved a significant refurbishment project; the conversion of the school’s former gymnasium into an innovative and contemporary stimulating learning environment with capacity for up to 125 students. The design allows for a more personalised and collaborative approach to learning, with a mix of group spaces, intimate and quite study areas, tiered presentation spaces and ample outdoor learning decks, supporting a play-based teaching approach. The project also includes an integrated kitchen facility and dining space, used for student cooking classes and events such as parent teacher nights. The project design has won regional awards from Learning Environments Australasia and used as a case study.
