This new station was successfully delivered on the same site as an existing 24 hour station which remained fully operational to ensure the safety needs of the community were not compromised.

To achieve this, construction works were staged to accommodate the needs of the station crews, who work in shifts, ensuring that continuous access was maintained throughout construction.

Facilities and amenities within the two bay station include an outdoor seating and BBQ area, kitchen and meals area, gymnasium, dry room, change rooms, equipment storage, dispatch, shower area and bedrooms for MFB staff. An extensive drill yard is also provided, allowing crew members to complete training exercises on base.

In order to achieve the desire of the community for an ecologically sustainable designed facility, materials with high sustainability values were selected, and matched throughout the building phase with environmentally appropriate construction activities, implementing our Waste and Recycling Procedure.
